Dance Umbrella is committed to providing high quality engagement with international artists through our Learning and Participation Programme. In 2011, we have given 200 people aged 8 - 80, including non-professionals and dance students, the opportunity to participate in Rosemary Lee's Square Dances, a free outdoor event.

Other activities range from talks, workshops and masterclasses, to performance opportunities alongside festival artists at major London venues. These activities are tailored each year around the festival’s diverse artistic programme, offering innovative and often bold ways to embrace the festival experience.
